New paper by the Atlantic Cancer Consortium Patient Advisory Committee (ACC PAC)

We are pleased to share our scholarly paper published in Discover Health Systems journal this week!

In this paper, we describe the formation of our team (ACC PAC) and the patient and family priorities its members identified regarding cancer and precision medicine in Atlantic Canada.

The ACC PAC identified priorities in two categories:

  1. Addressing needs of everyone affected by cancer equitably, and the whole patient and family
  2. Increasing awareness, access, and affordability of precision medicines

Presenting the ACC PAC in the ARCC 2024 Conference (May 17, 2024)

I was delighted to speak about the ACC PAC, its goals and its work since its inception in January 2024 as part of the Applied Research In Cancer Control (ARCC) Conference, 2024 in Ottawa (May 16-17, 2024).

I met with great folks (researchers and patient advocates), listened to awesome studies and presentations by others, and had the privilege to talk about Marathon of Hope Cancer Centre Networks, Atlantic Cancer Consortium, and our Patient Advisory Committee.

We will continue to disseminate ACC PAC’s work to in both public and scholarly spaces, media, journals, conferences, and events.

Best,

Sevtap Savas, PhD Lead ACC PAC, Ottawa May 17, 2024
